Consumers embraces affordable smartphones

Korean people are happily adopting affordable smartphones as the behemoths producing
high-end produces that can challenge other smartphones.

SK Telecom will soon start the cheap Sol smartphone by China’s TCL, arriving on the heels of TG & Co.’s Luna which producing sales more than 150,000 units.

A month ago, KT released Samsung Galaxy J7 and LG Uplus Huawei’s Y6, additionally sold exclusively and low priced by the individual providers. All price tag is less than W500,000, consumer can get the handset depending on their g subscription plan to have an idea how much the cost in dollar $1 USD=W1,212.

SK Telecom, Kt and LG Uplus are offering low and mid-price smartphones under exclusive discounts with the manufacturer because there are no models that can complete head-on with Samsung’s premium Galaxy S series and Apple iPhones and none Samsung or apple will agree to exclusive deal with a single mobile carrier.

KT distributed more than 50,000 J7 handsets a month after they strike store shelves and LG Uplus over 20,000 Y6s. Sector watchers say the telecommunications are quickly getting control of the domestic phone market, which used to be ruled by the phone manufacturer on their own.

Since April 2015, SK Telecom has sold more than a number of low and mid-priced smartphones, half of them from Chinese Companies or small Korean companies.

Samsung and LG are answering with cheaper phones of their own. A while ago, Samsung released the budget phone Galaxy A which still comes with good specs.

With many choices of cheap smartphones nowadays consumer happily pick their preferred handset considering first with their budget.
